With partners all over the globe.
Leading the charge are youth organizations like the Youth Sustainable Development Network, What is Design, and the Earth Sustainability Network. Their voices, amplified by the Dutch Youth Advisory Committee, resonated with established institutions. The Lagos State Public Service Servants Development Centre and the Ministry of Environment joined forces, recognizing the importance of youth leadership in tackling a challenge that will define the future.
Leading the Charge for Climate Literacy, thereby Transforming Knowledge into Climate Action.
ECO-LEARN Nigeria is a groundbreaking climate education project
aimed at raising awareness and fostering action on climate change
in Lagos State.
The mission of ECO-LEARN Nigeria is clear: empower the foot
soldiers of education – Lagos' public school teachers – with
adequate climate skills, knowledge, resources to convey to their
youth. These educators are the ones who shape young minds every
day, and ECO-LEARN aims to equip them with the knowledge and tools
to tackle climate change heads-on.
A Foundation for Climate
Action.
Safeguarding Human Health
Climate change increases heat-related illnesses and spreads diseases. Combating it improves public health and quality of life.
Promoting Economic Stability
Climate impacts industries and causes financial losses. Investing in resilience and sustainability safeguards economies.
Enhancing Global Security
Climate change can drive conflict and displacement. Addressing it reduces these risks and promotes global stability.
Equipping Educators and Students for Climate Leadership
Through carefully designed workshops, hands-on training, and readily accessible resources, we support educators in bringing climate topics into the classroom. Our activities empower teachers with the practical skills they need to build awareness, drive action, and inspire students toward sustainable living.
I had the privilege of being part of the Eco Learn project, and I must say, it was a truly transformative experience! The platform's interactive and immersive approach to environmental education not only made learning fun for the participants but also sparked a deep sense of curiosity. The Eco Learn project is an investment that will yield a lifetime of benefits - for participants and the community
